This adaptive reuse project transforms a former food safety testing lab into a vibrant community center for youth services and counseling. The comprehensive overhaul breathes new life into the space, with a refreshed exterior, new windows and a skylight, and a thoughtful interior layout that prioritizes security, confidentiality, and smart adjacencies to improve communication and day-to-day management. Multiple spaces, from private therapy rooms to open activity areas, enhance this multi-functional facility and cater to the diverse needs of the community’s children and young adults.
