THREE OAKS MONTESSORI
Three Oaks Montessori School provides a warm home where children from Chicago’s northwest suburbs can learn in a sustainable environment. It was important that the building has an at home feel to complement the surrounding architecture.
The three-story, 9,586 sq.ft. house design also encourages a smooth transition for children accustomed to being at home to the outside world. Sustainable features including a geothermal system, water harvesting, and locally sourced natural materials not only bring the school to a LEED Gold rating but teach students about how to conserve and save energy. The school contains ten classrooms with support spaces, a commercial kitchen, and a playground, and 18 parking stalls.
