Skokie, Illinois

We modernized this Skokie residence to capitalize on natural materials and stand as a beacon of sustainability. The addition wraps the existing house with a cloak of limestone and Ipe (Brazilian walnut) rain screen creating an entry gallery, living room, kitchen, and master suite while keeping most of the current home intact.  All the original existing house elements, including brickwork and windows, were preserved and integrated with the interior of the house, reducing construction waste and gaining significant efficiency through the reuse of materials.
