We designed this new hematology and oncology center to give patients a healing connection to the natural surrounding farmland as they undergo treatment. The design is geometric, and linear shapes add interest to the building, drawing it up from the ground toward the sky, suggesting hope and optimism. Local limestone gives the structure an organic, soothing presence. Large windows allow natural light to brighten the chemotherapy treatment area, and together with warm, earthy tones, create a comforting and positive atmosphere for staff, patients, and their families.
