A stunning mix of natural materials anchors this house in its park-like setting. We used smooth and rough treatments to add texture to the house’s stone exterior. The variation in stone defines the massing of the structure and creates horizontal shadow lines that are contemporary in their design. Light, reflective roofing material and a geothermal heating system maximize energy efficiency. The interior features a monumental staircase, light-filled atrium, and bedrooms and bathrooms customized for each member of the family.
